OMRON Awarded Newsweek's World's Greenest Companies 2025
MRON has been recognized as one of the World's Greenest Companies 2025 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group for its sustainability disclosures.
As a global technology company active in over 130 countries, OMRON drives sustainability across the entire value chain – from renewable energy generation and energy efficiency to production, packaging, logistics, supply chain, recycling, and waste reduction.
OMRON received the highest 5-star rating for its sustainability efforts, meeting the EU’s strictest standards. The study by GIST Impact and Plant-A Insights Group evaluated over 8,000 companies worldwide on 25+ parameters in four categories – greenhouse gas emissions, water use, waste, and sustainability disclosures – recognizing the top 750 publicly listed companies across 26 countries.
Key initiatives include:
Green Project – Device & Module Solutions: Serving automotive, power transmission, and home appliances, OMRON’s relays, switches, connectors, and sensors boost efficiency and reduce energy use. The Green Project focuses on Products, Processes, and Purchase: product innovations lower environmental impact at the component level, optimized processes minimize waste, and responsible procurement promotes sustainability across the supply chain.
Industrial Automation & Healthcare Collaboration: OMRON’s Matsusaka factory in Japan, producing blood pressure monitors and thermometers, follows a “reduce, create, absorb” concept for carbon neutrality – reducing energy use, generating clean energy, and offsetting remaining emissions. The i-BELT data management platform monitors tasks from soldering to logistics, enhancing energy productivity.
“This recognition validates our efforts to drive sustainability-led value for customers, partners, and society,” said Judy Connors, President & COO, OMRON Electronic Components, LLC. “Sustainability is not just compliance; it creates business, fosters creativity, and preserves the environment.”
Through its long-term vision Shaping the Future 2030, OMRON continues tackling global issues like climate change, reducing GHG emissions, and promoting a circular economy.
