(Un)managed gigabit switches for the harsh industrial environment
EFCO expands portfolio with shock and vibration-resistant network components
EFCO, specialist for industrial computers and network components for automation and image processing, presents unmanaged as well as managed layer 2 switches and layer 3 routers for industrial use. The fanless devices tolerate operating temperatures of -40...75° C, work with voltages between 12 and 58 V DC or 110/230 V AC and are designed for operation with redundant power supplies. A 19-inch rack installation is also possible, as is mounting on the DIN rail. Connected devices can be powered via PoE; Optionally, fiber optics can also be connected via SFP module.
The vibration and shock-resistant industrial network components from EFCO have up to 24 10/100/1000 Base-T(X) and four 100/1000 Base-X SFP ports. Designed for 12...58 V DC supply, all switches and routers have two redundant voltage inputs with reverse polarity protection. The ambient temperature may be between -40 and +75°C. The devices are designed for high bandwidths and low latency of less than 10 µs. The devices can independently report error states via a potential-free contact.
The highly reliable Eagle-Net network components designed for continuous industrial use support the construction of structured networks in order to avoid isolated overloads and minimize latency times. Accordingly, the devices also support different Ethernet redundancy protocols.
The operation of potential-free long-distance networks, as is common in the process industry, is possible via the SFP fiber optic option. Depending on the fiber used and the type of modulation, the range is up to 40 km. The new network components from EFCO can also be operated on special topologies such as Fiber Channel or SONET using hot-swappable SFP slots.
All connections of the network components protected according to IP30 go to the front or above.
