Smart distance measurement for modern automation
With the optoNCDT ILR3800-100-IO, Micro-Epsilon expands its portfolio of laser distance sensors with another model featuring an integrated IO-Link interface. A firmware update also adds new functions to the sensor for even more stable measurements.
With its compact design, high precision, and robust construction, the high-performance optoNCDT ILR3800-100 laser distance sensor has proven itself in demanding measurement applications. A version with an IO-Link interface is now also available, making the sensor particularly attractive for automation applications.
Thanks to IO-Link, users benefit from simple and cost-effective connection technology as well as standardized communication according to IEC 61131-9. This allows for quick and easy integration of the sensor into existing systems, significantly simplifying commissioning. Another advantage becomes apparent during operation: If a sensor needs to be replaced, re-parameterization can be automated. This reduces downtime and considerably simplifies maintenance processes.
A recent firmware update for the ILR3800 offers additional performance. The integrated auto-correction automatically filters out extreme values, ensuring stable and precise measurements. The DYNAMIC preset was specifically developed for dynamic measurements and reacts particularly quickly to sudden changes in distance. This optimizes the sensor settings for a high response speed, enabling precise detection of rapid movements.
With these features, the optoNCDT ILR3800-100-IO is ideally suited for numerous applications in industrial automation. At the same time, the new variant offers all the proven advantages of the standard model: a compact design, low weight, high signal stability on various surfaces, and a robust sensor construction with IP67 protection. Furthermore, the sensor boasts a large measuring range of up to 100 m, which can be extended to 150 m with a reflector. This allows the sensor to combine high precision with modern communication capabilities, opening up new possibilities for efficient integration into automated processes.
